Ground Beef Pasta
Simple meat sauce pasta — browned ground beef, garlic, onion, canned tomatoes, and black pepper. More protein than a typical Filipino pasta and faster than ordering out. Season the beef aggressively while browning.

Ingredients
- 200g dry Pasta Spaghetti
- 250g Lean Ground Beef
- 1 can (400g) Canned Whole Tomatoes
- 6 cloves Garlic
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1.5 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 2 pcs Calamansi
Steps
- Cook pasta in well-salted water until al dente.
- Brown ground beef in oil over high heat — do not crowd the pan, let it develop color. Season with salt and black pepper while browning.
- Add garlic and onion. Cook 3 minutes until softened.
- Add canned tomatoes, crushing them by hand as you add. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning — it should be savory and slightly tangy.
- Toss with cooked pasta. Finish with calamansi.
