Beef and Broccoli with Brown Rice
This dish has soy sauce in it — that is not optional, it is the entire point. The trick is using 2 tbsp for 250g of beef and balancing it with garlic and ginger so you get full flavor with controlled sodium.

Ingredients
- 250g, sliced thin Beef Sirloin
- 250g Broccoli, Local Medium
- 2 cups cooked Brown Rice
- 6 cloves Garlic
- 1 thumb Ginger
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1.5 tbsp Cooking Oil
- 2 pcs Calamansi
Steps
- Slice beef thin against the grain. Marinate in 2 tbsp soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and calamansi for 20 minutes.
- Heat wok to very high heat. Add 1.5 tbsp oil.
- Sear beef in a single layer, 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Add broccoli to the same hot wok, stir-fry 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return beef, toss together 1 minute. Finish with 1 tsp sesame oil.
- Serve over brown rice.
